Zuma expected back at Zondo commission ‘soon’
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The commission of inquiry into state capture has confirmed former president Jacob Zuma is still expected to continue his testimony.
Zuma’s appearance at the commission had to be postponed due to the extended lockdown.
Speaking during a virtual media briefing on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo said Zuma's appearance will happen shortly after the commission starts its work in June.
"It is going to happen reasonably soon after we resume hearings. We still would like him to come and give evidence."

Zondo said the application to summon Zuma to appear before the commission is still pending.
"I am aware that the legal team prepared replying affidavits to the ones filed by the former president's legal team before the lockdown. That application is still pending, the commencement of the lockdown just meant we had to reorganise ourselves.”
He added that he was not certain when President Cyril Ramaphosa would appear before the commission but reiterated that it is important that the country hears his submissions.
