Zuma Must Go march cancelled

ANC members under the banner Zuma Must Go have told journalists that they have information that President Jacob Zuma is likely to be recalled today
The group was set to march on Monday to the Union Buildings to call for Zuma to be removed.
After hours of waiting for the protesters to arrive, the group's leader Hangwi Maumela briefed the media outside Burgers Park Hotel.
Maumela says some ANC NEC members begged them to put the march on hold.

"I have been ignoring calls from some ANC NEC members because I wanted to continue with the march. I then decided that I should listen to them as they are older and senior to me. They pleaded with me saying they understand what we are doing. They promised us today that it seems Zuma will go today as the NEC will ask him. But if the NEC is not recalling him we will continue with the march," says Maumela.
When journalists asked who the NEC members are, he refused to give their names.

Maumela says some of their supporters were threatened and assaulted.
"We know we have been threatened, some people have been beaten and one comrade is opening a police case at Pretoria central. This was our first time to come out with many members while a lot of comrades are calling and stating they are in support of us. We did not postpone the march, we are holding it and assessing the situation," he says.
