Zuma sends condolences to family of Jeff Butler

President Jacob Zuma has extended his condolences to the family of the late football legend and former Kaizer Chiefs coach, Jeff Butler, who died at the weekend.

Butler passed away on Saturday, following a long illness.
Butler guided Kaizer Chiefs to numerous victories including the JPS Knockout Cup, the National Soccer League championship and the BP Top Eight Cup, between1988 and 1996.
"This is yet another huge loss to the sporting fraternity in a short space of time. We are with his family in thoughts and prayers during this trying period. May his soul rest in peace," President Zuma says in a statement.

Butler had a number of stints as Chiefs' head coach‚ in 1988 to 1989‚ 1991‚ 1992‚ and 1995 to 1996 and he also coached some of Amakhosi's greats.
His 1991 and 1992 Chiefs teams were regarded as among the best seen in South Africa according to reports.
He briefly coached Bafana Bafana after South Africa's readmission to international football in 1992.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by Butler's family.
