Answering questions in the National Assembly on Thursday afternoon, Zuma said several investigations and reviews have been set up following the release of the State of Capture by former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

"Some of the aspects of the report have been taken on review, so there has never been quietness. It can't be correct to say Rome is burning and people are just sitting," he said.

Zuma added that several Parliamentary committees are probing the issue.

"This important institution is also doing something, so it is not as if Rome is burning and people are just sitting," he said.

Zuma revealed that details around the proposed judicial commission of inquiry into state capture will also be announced soon.

"Because there is a capture kind of situation, how many institutions should investigate and which will be the one that will produce the good results?" Zuma asked.

"Is state capture a matter that should be tackled by everybody?" he asked.
