Zuma to visit Nelson Mandela Bay over the weekend

Former president Jacob Zuma will visit Nelson Mandela Bay on Saturday as part of the MK party’s election campaign.

One of the party's Eastern Cape leaders, Mawande Ndakisa, said Zuma will kick off his visit by addressing the congregants of a church in the city before visiting other communities.
According to a poster shared on social media platforms, Zuma is also meant to visit Despatch, Veeplaas, and Motherwell.
The MK party leader’s visit comes a little over a month before the general elections on 29 May.
On Friday, the Independent Electoral Commission confirmed that it had lodged an urgent appeal to the Constitutional Court to clarify the Electoral Court's decision to allow Zuma back on the ballot.
Earlier this week, the Electoral Court ruled in favour of former president Jacob Zuma’s eligibility as a candidate for uMkhonto we Sizwe ahead of the elections.
The MK party approached the court to challenge the Independent Electoral Commission's decision to bar Zuma from contesting for a parliamentary seat.
The Electoral Court dismissed the IEC's objection.
