The National Prosecutive Authority confirmed on the 16th of March that Zuma will stand trial on one count of racketeering, two counts of corruption, one of money laundering and 12 counts of fraud.

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) say their team is finalising the summons to be served on Zuma.

"We can confirm that we are finalising the summons. We hoping that we will be done before the end of this week so that the accused are well aware of the rights as well as prepare for the court case that will be resuming soon," says spokesperson, Hangwani Mulaudzi.

The second accused in the case is Thales SA, a subsidiary of the French arms manufacturer.

Mulaudzi attributed the delay in serving the summons to administrative issues.

"It is issues of administration. You need to make sure you have all your facts right, don't want to be embarrassed when you go to court so it is issues of whether we are ready as well."

It has been widely reported that Zuma is expected to appear in the Durban High Court on 6 April.

ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule says the reinstatement of corruption charges against the former president was not discussed at this weekend's national executive committee meeting held in Cape Town.
