Zweli Mkhize: Transformation in financial sector not negotiable
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
Treasurer General of the ANC, Zweli Mkhize says the financial sector needs to be brought together to make sure that there is transformation.
He addressed Benguela Global Investor Breakfast at the Capitl Moloko Hotel in Sandton.
Benguela Global Fund Managers is a black-owned global investment firm based in South Africa.
"The youth will eventually question that we have a good constitution but how does it benefit them when they are excluded," Mkhize said.
He added that those who were privileged during apartheid need to sacrifice as the oppressed forgave and reconciled.
"The frustrations of young professionals is that they feel marginalized and particularly black and thus transformation is not negotiable, we needed the economy to be transformed," he said.
Mkhize says marginalization also takes place in the corporate sector and there is a sense of exclusion economically and socially.
