My 67 Minutes: David Makhura attends Bikers For Mandela Day send-off
Updated | By MornéJK
Gauteng Premier, David Makhura on Thursday attended the Bikers For Mandela Day send-off in Johannesburg.
The annual trip is organised by Nelson Mandela's former personal assistant, Zelda la Grange and sees a group of bikers taking part in a trip to the most remote communities of South Africa, spreading Madiba magic.
"Today is a great day and it is that period in our country and in the world where we get overwhelmed by the need to do good, take action and make a difference," Makhura said.
He added that international Mandela Day is a time where we celebrate the late Nelson Mandela's legacy and do 67minutes of good in the name of the father of our nation.
"We will also be out on Monday in Mamelodi where the annual Mandela lecture will take place. We will help the community in that area," Makhura told Jacaranda FM News.
The bikers are embarking on a five day trip where they visit communities along the way.
They will be heading from Gauteng to Maputo in Mozambique from the 14th of July until the 18th of July, also known as Mandela Day.
