Youth Voices: Sibusiso Ngwenya
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
His love and obsession with socks has flourished into a budding business.
Founder and head designer of Skinny Sbu Socks, Sibusiso Ngwenya (24) says his merchandise is aimed at giving the modern man a sense of confidence by enhancing his style and setting him apart from the crowd.
Ngwenya started his sock business in April 2013. He laid claim to the title of first black sock-maker in the world.
Like most successful ventures, it started with him spotting a gap in the market and having collected over 70 pairs of designer socks.
Sibahle Motha chats to Ngwenya to find out what it's like to be a young entrepreneur in South Africa.
He says the youth need to open their eyes to the opportunities around them.
