Cannabis Legalization in South Africa?
Updated | By Michael Savage
With the news of Cannabis legalization in the state of Colorado in the US, and US president Barack Obama recently stating in an interview published in the New Yorker newspaper, as well the as soon-to-be legalized state of Washington DC, we asked on the show today if cannabis legalization would be a good thing or a bad thing in South Africa.
According to Cathy Vos, co-ordinator for SANCA National, it is most certainly not going add to an already rampant problem of drug abuse in SA.
On the other side of the fence, we also welcomed Quintin Van Kerken, CEO of the Anti Drug Alliance South Africa, and although they are an anti-drug abuse organisation, they believe that cannabis legalization is something that South Africa should consider as a method to curb the problem.
We ask you - which side are you on? Should South Africa consider cannabis legalization as an alternative to curb the drug abuse problem in South Africa, or is it a no - go? We would love to hear your feedback, leave us a comment below!
