The decomposing body of a 70-year-old man was found on his farm in North West, police said on Thursday.
"The half-naked body of [Walter] Niedinder was discovered 40 metres away from his Brakfontein farm by his neighbours [on Wednesday]," Captain Amanda Funani said.
It was not clear when and how Niedinder was killed. The farm is in the Buffelshoek area, near Mafikeng.
It was believed Niedinder and a friend had an argument during the weekend.
"Niedinder's friend is still missing and his whereabouts are unknown."
The farmer's blue Mercedes Benz, a TV and a DVD player were missing. No arrests had been made. Police were investigating cases of murder, vehicle theft, and house robbery.
