Johan Stemmet on MBD

Johan Stemmet, television host of the ever popular 'Noot vir Noot' music show joined the team for 'Stars on MBD'.

 

It is the longest continually running television game show (in any language) in the country, having reached episode 500 after 20 years during series 35 In 2010. The show was first broadcast in 1991; its first (and only, as of 1991) presenter being Johan Stemmet.

The production company, which also owns the format, is Stemmburg Television, named after its founders - Stemmet and musical leader Johan van Rensburg.

 

 

The music on Noot vir Noot is performed by the show's own live band, Die Musiekfabriek (The Music Factory).

A guest artist also performs a medley of 5 songs as part of each episode.
