United For Madiba
Updated | By Michael Savage
We got an email from Thembi Nhlabathi, and just had to share it with you.
Thembi's email read:
"Soos 'n rots staan 'n nasie saam (ons het saterdag regtig saam
gestaan)" Bafana Bafana en die Springbokke...WoW!!!
Nie net het altwee spanne gewen nie ,maar die land was verenig vir die eerste keer in baie lank.
Mense het vuvuzelas geblaas en niemand het gekla oor die
geraas nie.
Black ,white ,indian ,coloured, everybody supporting bafana
and the boks in one staduim and singing the anthem with Riana Nel was
magical.
Everybody had their doubts but when the matches started
everything fell into place, thousands of white people at a soccer
match and black people blowing vuvuzelas at a rugby match ,it was
crazy!!
I was amazed at how sport can unite a country it was '95
(worldcup) and '96 (africa cup of nations ) all over again, South Africa
the rainbow nation.
It made me think about a few things:
1. Our country is not that bad - we have problems huge ones but really, some countries are going through worse.
2. Why can't this country be like it was on Saturday more often, why does it take soooo much to unite us??
3.if only politics and politicians can unite people like that and -
4. so many hot bods on one field is not good for a girls heart!
Saturday was a huge tribute to madiba and its what he wants for this
country unity nothing more ,if only he was there to see it.
United for madiba made me realize that despite how bad things are with the
Government, corruption and crime, etc. in the end our country will be
okay.
