Rhino poaching is on the rise in Namibia
Latest figures show that poaching has increased dramatically over the last couple of years in Namibia, and most of this poaching has taken place in protected areas. No rhino were poached between 2005 and 2010 in Namibia, but a total of 11 have been killed since then - rising from one in 2011 to four already in 2014.
Deputy Environment Minister Pohamba Shifeta told AFP that the government is worried by the trend and is working with law enforcement agencies to tackle the problem. "We don't want the numbers to escalate further," she said, "There is a high probability that attention will shift to Namibia as we have recently experienced
