The Springboks are sweating on the availability of flyhalf Morné Steyn for their Test against Scotland in Edinburgh on Sunday.
The Springboks are sweating on the availability of flyhalf Morné Steyn for their Test against Scotland in Edinburgh on Sunday.
Steyn left the field with an injured back during Saturday's Test against Wales in Cardiff.
According to the SA Rugbymag website, Steyn suffered a back spasm in the warm-up prior to the game.
It was hoped he could push through and complete the match but his condition deteriorated and he was forced to leave the field after 17 minutes.
The Springbok medical team believes the decision to take Steyn off prevented serious injury and is hopeful that he would be ready to play on Sunday.
However, coach Heyneke Meyer said he would not risk a half-fit Steyn and will persist with Patrick Lambie if his No 1 pivot is not ready.
Sunday's clash at Murrayfield kicks off at 17:00
