Caster leads SA's Brussels DL line-up

Semenya, who won the Diamond League series in the 800m event at the first of two finals in Zurich last week, will turn out over one lap in the Belgian capital.

While she has been unstoppable over two laps this year, four of the other eight athletes in the 400m Women race have run faster than Semenya's Personal Best of 50.74 set at the ASA Senior Championships in Stellenbosch in April.

She lines up against a world-class field spearheaded by five-time IAAF World Championships relay medallist Natasha Hastings of the United States, and the Jamaican duo of Olympic bronze medallist Shericka Jackson and Commonwealth Games champion Stephenie McPherson.

Luvo Manyonga, who set a Personal Best of 8.37m to earn the Long Jump Men's silver medal at the Rio Games last month, is set to turn out as one of the favourites at the 14th leg of the top-flight campaign, along with World Championships silver medallist Fabrice Lapierre of Australia.

Wenda Nel is in the entry list for the 400m Women Hurdles race, forming part of a field led by Czech world champion Zuzana Hejnova, Olympic silver medallist Sara Petersen of Denmark and Commonwealth champion Kaliese Spencer of Jamaica.

National sprint record holder Carina Horn turns out in a 100m contest which includes three women who have dipped under 11 seconds this year.

The line-up is spearheaded by Elaine Thompson of Jamaica, who won double gold in the 100m and 200m at the Rio Games, and 200m world champion Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands.

Nel is lying fourth in the standings ahead of the Diamond League series decider in the one-lap event over the barriers, holding 16 points, and Horn is in a tie for sixth position in the short dash with seven points to her name.
