The F1 driver line up for 2023 has been the hottest topic off the track and with only three seats remaining, the pressure's mounting.
South African racing champion and Track This panellist Tschops Sipuka took everyone by surprise by saying in the latest episode: “I wouldn’t be surprised if Nyck de Vries is going to be replacing Lewis Hamilton in the future. You must remember George Russel came straight from a Williams into a Mercedes.”
Motorsport analyst and TopGear SA Director Avon Middleton weighed in: ”He’s an incredible talent but he’s 27-years-old and doesn’t have a lot a time. He got a good head on his shoulders and he should get a seat.”
So who will fill the remaining seats? Track This host and motorsport commentator Kriya Gangiah is still hopeful to see Daniel Ricciardo in Formula 1.
“I would love to see him in 2023 but at some stage he needs to figure out his plan B.”
