Reliability has become a serious problem for Ferrari after several DNF’s over the season, the most recent being Carlos Sainz at the Austrian Grand Prix.

While Leclerc’s car held on for him to take victory, keeping his title hopes alive, the engine failure for Sainz has highlighted how Ferrari is still far from sorting out their engine issues.

The trouble follows them into this weekend’s French Grand Prix as Sainz is now likely to take a grid penalty to replace the engine components that were damaged.

The Track This podcast team say this is not the only obstacle they need to overcome this weekend.

Motorsport analyst Avon Middleton is worried about another factor: “My main concern is the heat, and we might see reliability issues across the grid,” he says in the latest Track This.

Fellow panelist, and racing driver, Tschops Sipuka agrees: “On the engine performance side, they are stretched to the limit and then reliability becomes an issue, and we will see Red Bull becoming fragile as well.”
