George Russel proves he deserves to be in a winning car but where will he place at this weekend’s #AzerbaijanGP? Our Formula One experts have mixed opinions in this week’s episode of Track This.
The
Mercedes W13 has been quite a disappointment this season, but as upgrades
filter in, we are starting to see a car that has good race pace and George
Russel has really capitalized on this so far with the team being third
in the constructor’s championship.
Azerbaijan
is a new street track that was added to the calendar in 2017 and consists of a
long main straight, slow 20 corners and two DRS zones. With the porpoising
effect having the biggest impact on the straights this may not be the best
circuit for Mercedes.
This means that the pressure is really on the drivers to
manage the car and get the best performance out of it.
Motorsport
analyst and TopGear SA Director, Avon Middleton however has faith in the Silver
Arrows, “I think a Merc is going to squeeze onto the podium.”
