The final will be played at 6pm on Saturday 8 May.

Premier Soccer League's acting CEO Mato Madlala says soccer fans should expect a thriller next month.

"This season’s competition has already proven to be thrilling and entertaining so far and we expect much of the same in the final.”

Chippa United advanced to the final after beating GladAfrica Championship side Pretoria Callies 1-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila pulled an upset after dumping Nedbank Cup champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versveld Stadium on Sunday in an entertaining 6-5 penalties.

Nedbank's Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Khensani Nobanda, says the final will take place behind closed doors due to Covid-19 regulations.

"As much as we would love to see the Free State Stadium packed with Nedbank Cup fans, we urge everyone to play their part by watching the game safely from home.

"As part of our efforts to interact with fans and bring the stadium atmosphere in their homes, we will be running a competition where fans stand a chance to win a VIP style Nedbank Cup Final Home Viewing Experience with a football legend.

"Fans can also interact on the digital platform, fan mode, which allows them to share their experiences and live reactions by singing their team song, celebrating goals, applauding and waving their team flag."
