All-rounder Jacques Kallis and fast bowler Dale Steyn will miss South Africa's third and final One-Day International against Pakistan due to injury.

Pakistan have already clinched the series by winning the first two games and two of South Africa's biggest stars will be absent from the match at Centurion this Saturday (30th November).

Steyn has a mild left side strain and Kallis is nursing a badly sprained finger which he damaged in the first ODI in Cape Town - his first ODI since February 2012.

Steyn missed South Africa's first two games of the Champions Trophy earlier this year with a side strain but both players are expected to return to full fitness ahead of the India series next month.

"Dale and Jacques will play a key role in the upcoming series against India in both the Tests and ODIs, so we felt it was necessary for us to take pre-cautionary measures so that they are able to enter the series in prime condition," team manager Mohammed Moosajee said.

"This will also give the coaching staff an opportunity to try out a few players who have missed out during the series."

No replacement players have been called up to the squad ahead of the final game.

The first ODI against India is on 5th December in Johannesburg.

South Africa ODI squad: AB de Villiers (captain), Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, JP Duminy, Imran Tahir, Ryan McLaren, David Miller, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Vernon Philander, Graeme Smith, Lonwabo Tsotsobe
