 BAE SANG-MOON

Age: 29

Nationality: South Korea

Presidents Cup: Debut

Majors: 0

World ranking: 88

Won on this course in 2013 and 2014 so would love to make it a hat-trick of wins in Incheon before he departs professional golf for a 21-month stint doing compulsory military service. Won his first PGA Tour event in 2015 at the Frys.com Open and will be roared on by the vociferous home galleries.

STEVEN BOWDITCH

Age: 32

Nationality: Australia

Presidents Cup: Debut

Majors: 0

World ranking: 58

One of four Aussies to make the side, Bowditch finished second to fellow captain's pick Bae at the PGA Tour's Frys.com Open before winning the Byron Nelson. Known for an aggressive go-for-broke style of play -- Bowditch misses a lot of cuts -- he could be formidable in fourball play if he can dovetail with his partner.

JASON DAY

Age: 28

Nationality: Australia

Presidents Cup: 2011, 2013 (W4-L4-H2)

Majors: 1

World ranking: 2

Breakthrough season for one of the most consistent names at the top of big tournament leaderboards for the past few years when he finally defeated his nemesis Jordan Spieth to win the US PGA Championship and break his Major duck. Won two of the four FedEx Cup playoff events last month and briefly got to world number one, only to see Spieth wrest it back a week later. Will it be third time lucky in Presidents Cups for one of the brightest stars of the game?

BRANDEN GRACE

Age: 27

Nationality: South Africa

Presidents Cup: 2013 (0-4-0)

Majors: 0

World ranking: 22

Another young star, Grace finished third behind Day and Spieth at the PGA Championship in a season where he won the European Tour's Qatar Masters and finished top five in three of the four Majors. Lost all four of his matches on debut last time out, a sorry record that he seems certain to put right this year.

THONGCHAI JAIDEE

Age: 45

Nationality: Thailand

Presidents Cup: Debut

Majors: 0

World ranking: 31

A Presidents Cup appearance has been a long-time coming for the ageless ever-smiling 45 year-old former Thai army paratrooper who only turned professional after his 30th birthday. Earned his 18th worldwide victory at the European Open just two weeks ago and has pedigree in head-to-head golf, having lost narrowly to Graeme McDowell in the final of the World Match Play Championship just two years ago.

ANIRBAN LAHIRI

Age: 28

Nationality: India

Presidents Cup: Debut

Majors: 0

World ranking: 39

Propelled himself up the world rankings and into Nick Price's team with a stellar 2015 that included two wins on the European Tour and a fifth-place finish in the US PGA Championship, the highest ever Major finish for a player from India. First from his country to play in the Presidents Cup and already a favourite among his teammates thanks to a wry sense of humour.

DANNY LEE

Age: 25

Nationality: New Zealand

Presidents Cup: Debut

Majors: 0

World ranking: 36

Danny Lee Jin-Myung, to give him his full name, should feel right at home this week -- he was born in Incheon before emigrating to New Zealand with his family at the age of eight. Lee's mother Seo So-Jin was a golf instructor and it showed when at the age of 18 her son won the 2008 US Amateur at Pinehurst to break Tiger Woods' record as the youngest champion. Looks likely to be paired with Bae to the delight of his adoring local fans who still regard him as Korean.

MARC LEISHMAN

Age: 31

Nationality: Australia

Presidents Cup: 2013 (2-2-0)

Majors: 0

World ranking: 37

Leishman shot 14-under (64-66) at the weekend at The Open Championship at St Andrews to reach a three-man playoff won by Zach Johnson of the US team with his International team mate Louis Oosthuizen also in the mix. It matched the lowest two-round total ever in a Major but it had been during the 2015 US Masters that Leishman had a life-changing experience. He was at Augusta when his wife Audrey was admitted to hospital with acute respiratory distress syndrome and toxic shock syndrome. Leishman withdrew from the Masters as doctors told the shocked couple to prepare for the worst. However, Audrey fought back and has now recovered. "It's changed my whole perspective on life," Leishman said. "Now it takes a lot more to worry me."

HIDEKI MATSUYAMA

Age: 23

Nationality: Japan

Presidents Cup: 2013 (1-3-1)

Majors: 0

World ranking: 15

Another of the bright young stars of the game who, though failing to win on the PGA Tour in 2015, recorded eight top-10s including six top-five finishes. Shot to prominence when winning back-to-back Asia-Pacific Amateur Championships in 2010 and 2011 resulting in two US Masters appearances. He made the cut both times, winning the low amateur prize in 2011.

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN

Age: 32

Nationality: South Africa

Presidents Cup: 2013 (1-3-1)

Majors: 1

World ranking: 13

Agonisingly close to repeating his 2010 British Open triumph at St Andrews this year, Oosthuizen was pipped in a three-man playoff by Zach Johnson at the Old Course. Also second in the US Open just one shot behind Jordan Spieth despite a first-round 77. One of three South Africans on the team, he is making his second appearance in the Presidents Cup.

CHARL SCHWARTZEL

Age: 31

Nationality: South Africa

Presidents Cup: 2011, 2013 (5-4-1)

Majors: 1

World ranking: 47

An indifferent season without a win by his own lofty standards but did make the cut in all four majors, posting a seventh-place finish at the US Open thanks to a final-round 66. Likely to be paired up with close friend Oosthuizen with whom he played on national amateur teams. The pair's careers mirrored each other when Schwartzel won the 2011 Masters just a few months after Oosthuizen won the British Open.

ADAM SCOTT

Age: 35

Nationality: Australia

Presidents Cup: 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 (12-15-3)

Majors: 1

World ranking: 14

The most decorated player on the International team, this will be his seventh consecutive appearance -- and he is yet to be on the winning side. A slight question mark hangs over the 2013 Masters champion because he has reverted to a standard putter for this event, ahead of his favoured broomstick implement that he has used for years being banned for the 2016 season. If he can somehow get the ball rolling on the undulating Incheon greens, Scott has the game, temperament and experience to lead his underdog team to only their second victory in the event.
