Proteas captain ‘proud’ as SA netball team heads to semi-finals

South African netball captain Bongi Msomi says she is proud of her team’s performances at the Netball World Cup in Liverpool.
The Proteas - ranked fifth in the world – beat sixth ranked Uganda 65-37 to earn a spot in the last four of the tournament for the first time in more than 20 years.
Msomi says knew the game against Uganda would not be easy.

"We are very happy to be in the semi-finals. I do not know when last Netball SA was in that position.
"We worked hard to get where we are today. We knew game would not be easy and they played really but I am proud of the SPAR Proteas. Today proved that we aren't here by luck but we worked for it."
Coach Norma Plummer says the girls deserve all the plaudits coming their way.
