A Vaal businessman and ANC Meyerton chairman Arshard Ali has been kidnapped in Pakistan, Eyewitness News reported on Sunday.
Ali was reportedly on his way to board a plane back to South Africa at the Lahore Airport on Tuesday when he was approached by four men who forced him into a white, double-cab bakkie.
His family had made an appeal for help to the department of international relations, Eyewitness News reported.
"They [the kidnappers] didn't tell us what they want," his wife Emel Ali was quoted as saying.
"They just took him. Can anybody help me in South Africa that I can go there and find my husband?" International relations could not be reached for comment.
