Sexwale to deliver Ali eulogy at boxing
Updated | By ANA
Former Gauteng Premier Tokyo Sexwale will deliver a ringside eulogy to the late Muhammad Ali during the Golden Gloves tournament at Emperors Palace on Saturday night.
The boxing night, entitled “Night of Reckoning” will be broadcast internationally.
Apart from SuperSport television coverage across Sub-Saharan Africa, the tournament feed will go to Scandinavia, India, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. This world class event is exclusively distributed by world boxing’s top rights distributor, Protocol Sports Marketing.
As promoter Rodney Berman pointed out, it ratchets up the pressure on the fighters, whose audience will potentially run into tens of millions.
The bill is topped by the IBO championship fight between Simphiwe Khonco and Siyabonga Siyo. It is also the first round of the exciting “Super Four”
cruiserweight tournament with Kevin Lerena up against Roberto Bolonti and Johnny Muller facing top-seeded Micki Nielsen.
