SuperSport United tasted defeat for the first time this season after they were pipped 2-1 at home by Moroka Swallows at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday night.

Edward Manqele took his tally for the season to four goals seven minutes into the game.  He latched on to a wonderful pass from Lerato Chabangu and hammered home to give Swallows the lead.

The lethal striker, on-loan from Mamelodi Sundowns seems to be back to his deadly self. He notched the first hatrick  of the season in the 3-2 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces.

The goal seemed to have had a little effect on Matsatsantsa a Pitori, they fought back by creating chances but failed to capitalise of them.

Bennett Chenene nearly put SuperSport back in the game from a dangerous David Mathebula free-kick. Mathebula whipped in a set-piece on the edge of the area but Chenene failed to get a touch in from close range.

Zeca Marques' men went into the break with the slender but deserved lead. They dominated the midfield with Chabangu and captain Lefa Tsutsulupa in control. The home side were the quickest of the block in the second half but continued being wasteful in front of goal.

They were made to pay for their erratic finishing, the ever-green Siyabonga Nomvethe got on the end of Chabangu corner to double his side's lead on the 59th minute.

SuperSport kept probing and were finally rewarded through a Edwin Gyimah header from a corner kick to set up a nervy finish to the game.

The last ten minutes were anxious ones for Swallows fans as their team sat back to protect their lead but that only invited pressure. In the end they held on to claim all three points to end SuperSport's unbeaten run.
