Rain expected amid countrywide protests

As thousands South Africans gear up to kick of nationwide protest marches against President Jacob Zuma, the SA Weather Service says there is a small chance of rain in Pretoria.

Protesters are expected to march to the Union Buildings to hand over a memorandum of demands. 

 

According to SA Weather forecaster Victoria Nurse, there is a 80% chance of rain over the south-eastern interior, but only a 30% chance of rain in Pretoria.

Gauteng: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers mainly from afternoon but scattered in the extreme south.

Mpumalanga: Morning fog patches and drizzle over the eastern high grounds where it will be cool, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers.

Limpopo: Cloudy with morning fog patches and drizzle over the eastern high grounds, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers.

North West: Cloudy at times, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

 

Rustenburg: 18 / 24

 

Free State: Cloudy at times, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the extreme south. It will be cool in the south and east.

Northern Cape: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the south-east. Morning fog patches are expected along the coast where it will be cool.

 

Kimberley: 18 / 29

 

Western Cape: Cloudy in the east with scattered showers and thundershowers, otherwise fine and cool to warm, but hot in the West Coast District. It will be windy in the south-west. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly, reaching gale force in the south-west.

Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the northern and eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the north-west. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly becoming north-easterly in the extreme south later.
