BACKGROUND:

We met baby Aneke Gouws and her parents Yolandie and Werner, when baby Aneke was just four months old - that was in May 2011. Baby Aneke was recovering well after having open heart surgery at the age of just 6 days!!! The beautiful baby girl and her parents were recovering from the health scare, the big operation and the hospital stay. Luckily, baby Aneke was covered by medical aid, but even so, there were about R30 000,00 in medical bills that the family had to pay from their pockets. Good Morning Angels and our friends at Brooklyn Mall helped with this - wiping the slate clean, so that the family could focuss on getting their lives and their little Aneke's health back on track. ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Dear Good morning angels

I am sending you this email on behalf of my younger sister.

She had her second child in January 2011 - a beautiful girl named Aneke. Two days went by and everything was fine, but Aneke suddenly got blue in colour(oxygen deficiency). Aneke was rushed to Sunninghill Hospital in Sandton to see the pediatric cardiologist. She had her first operation when she was 4 days old - stent operation. But we soon learned that the bigger operation was yet to come! Aneke's heart arteries were not connected to the heart as it should be. Her aorta and pulmonary arteries were switched! This was the reason for her oxygen deficiency, the deoxygenated blood couldn't be pumped to the lungs to get oxygen.

When Aneke was 6 days old she had open heart surgery - where the doctors switched the arteries back the way they were supposed to be! Thanking our God - the operation was successful!

Aneke was in ICU for a very long period and came home on Valentines Day! To this day, doctors are very happy with Aneke's healing and health.

Luckily my sister, Yolandie Gous, had medical aid but still owes +/- R30 000 to doctors and the hospital.

It would be deeply appreciated if you could help in any way.

Thank you for the work that you do!
Denise Gous
