Francois van Coke is a legendary rock musician, playing to massive audiences in sold out arenas, but where did it all start?
Francois van Coke started out playing to far smaller crowds in city halls, but rocking out like a true rockstar nevertheless.
Francois shared video footage of his first ever gig in 1996 in high school, performing at the Bellville Civic Centre.

In an Instagram post, Van Coke says he had been performing a track called 'Duba Bikes' with his first band Hydrant.
Yes, you read correctly. The song’s name was really 'Duba Bikes'.
The rock star shared more details exclusively to Jacaranda FM of his first ever paid gig.
It was, however, his last gig with this band.
