Breakfast cheer on the Emirates Lions for Super Rugby final

The Lions are doing it for South Africa! We are feeling a sense of pride.

It doesn’t matter what team you support, you will feel some sense of pride when the Lions run out in Christchurch to play the Crusaders on Saturday morning.

It will be the first time in Super Rugby history that two teams will play in two consecutive finals. The Crusaders came out on top in 2017, but the country is behind the Lions turning it around and bringing the trophy home.

Captain Warren Whitely sent a special message to the Breakfast show and its listeners giving thanks for all the support.

Nic Groom and Jacobie Adriaanse joined Martin Bester in studio to talk about the famous Lions player lift club, as well as a New Zealand ‘accent challenge’ between Martin and Nic Groom!

The Lions' mascot, Mufasa, and the team's cheerleaders joined us for a celebration a day before the final in New Zealand.

Lukas Fouche has been the mascot for 22 years and feels a sense of pride.
