Unfortunately, in today’s day and age, people cheat – a lot!

This could be due to the increased ease of access to many different places and people.

People cheat for a variety of different reasons, whether it’s boredom in a relationship, lack of communication or abuse in whichever form.

According to a 2021 report by Psychology Today, five places take the cake when it comes to locations where people start cheating.

1.     Work

This would make sense since many people spend most of their time at work. At work, you are also more likely to get to know people more deeply, some of whom you might share many interests and ambitions with.

2.     Gym

At the gym, a strong sense of physical attractiveness could lead to better chances of cheating while endorphins are rushing through one's body.

3.     Social media

It’s still considered cheating, even if it’s just happening online. On social media, we often share the best parts of ourselves, which seems more appealing to others. Social media also offers a different sense of secrecy and ease of communication.

 4.     Shared passion

This could be any hobby or passion where people get to engage with one another. If we meet people who are passionate about the same things as we are, there is an immediate attraction.

5.     Church

Church can create an instant intimacy between people as religion plays a significant role in many people’s lives. It is also a place where people open up about their emotional needs and problems, which could lead to open conversations and building deep bonds.

Each person’s relationship is different, and cheating could look different depending on the rules set out in your own relationship.

It’s also important to note that the problem is not the places where cheating occurs, but rather people’s choices. The above is purely an illustration of where it happens most.
