South African rugby player Frans Steyn will wear the Springbok ten jersey for the first time in 14 years in Saturday's Rugby Championship Test against Argentina in Durban.

The last time Steyn started at fly-half for South Africa was back in June 2008, when Italy visited Newlands.

Social media had a ball remembering the past, with many recalling what was happening in June 2008 using #thelasttimefransplayed10.

Here's what else happened in 2008:

- Scrum-half Jaden Hendrikse was eight, and Bulls wing Canan Moodie was five.

– Percy Montgomery had yet to become the Boks' 1st centurion – Rassie Erasmus was in his first year as Stormers coach – Duane Vermeulen was four years away from a Test debut – Nick Mallet was Italy's coach.

- There were only three stages of loadshedding - and loadshedding was only 9 months old!
