After the woman collapsed on the side of the road, the CPF was contacted by a distressed community member who witnessed the ordeal.

Sonet Klopper, a CPF member, was one of the first members to arrive on the scene.

"We received a call of the lady collapsing. They said it looked like she might be in labour."

According to Kloppper, CPF members responded within minutes of the distress call.

On arrival, she realised that the collapsed woman, whose identity is currently not known, was indeed in labour and experiencing contractions.

"I started timing the contractions and realised there is no way we will get the lady to hospital in time."

The baby was then delivered on the side of the road with the assistance of Klopper and another CPF member.

"By the time we got her into the ambulance, the baby and mom were fine."
