Local actor’s ‘Aunty Betty’ character is an internet sensation

The phenomenal character from Dean John Smith will have you in stitches!
Dean John Smith has played diverse characters on the theatre stage. It’s no wonder that his talent has impressed audiences and earned him some prestigious prizes.
Smith is considered one of the best young local talents and these days he can be seen in the popular KykNET soapie, ‘Suidooster'.

Besides his professional work, he is making his fans laugh on his Facebook page. The actor created the character of ‘Aunty Betty’. Betty is someone that loves talking and her ear is glued to a phone! Sometimes her pronunciation is off, but she doesn’t realise it!
The actor from Malmesbury said: ”I went through my videos and came across this one. I created this character like two years ago but never posted anything of her. Well, here goes. Dié is Betty."
