LOOK: Man celebrates one million kilometres on Hilux bakkie

Johan Koen left many South Africans in absolute shock when he celebrated reaching one million kilometres on his Toyota Hilux bakkie.

Images of Koen standing in a dealership, ready for his one million-kilometre service, have resurfaced on social media, and people are just as amazed as they were when the photos were first posted.

The images show Koen standing proudly next to his Toyota Hilux 4.0 V6 Double Cab, alongside a cake that reads, "Congratulations on 1,000,000km Mr Johan Koen."

Koen reportedly bought his vehicle from Bidvest McCarthy Toyota in Centurion many years ago and somehow managed to keep the bakkie in tip-top shape.

Over the years, he consistently serviced his vehicle and kept up with the ever-increasing number on the odometer.

The Hilux owner's impressive milestone recently resurfaced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) and sparked a flurry of reactions, with most users praising the reliability and durability of Toyota vehicles.

Koen and his bakkie received many likes and comments, and the post quickly went viral—and deservedly so, as this is no small feat.
