According to People, NFL spokesperson Joanna Hunter told Forbes back in 2016 that they "do not pay the artists". "We cover expenses and production costs," she continued.

This also makes sense as to why the pop star could punt her own beauty brand, Fenty, on stage. Rihanna orchestrated a very strategic product placement as she showcased her Fenty beauty products during her performance.

During the Half-Time Show, the Barbados-born singer delivered her club bangers, including 'Where Have You Been', 'Only Girl (In the World)', and the time-tested 'We Found Love'.

'Wild Thoughts', 'Run This Town', 'Umbrella', and 'Diamonds' rounded out the show.
