The 93rd annual Academy Awards was a bit different to other years. Due to the coronavirus and travel restrictions in America, the glitzy evening was spread out across several locations. 

The best documentary feature goes to… 'My Octopus Teacher'! The Netflix original documentary, 'My Octopus Teacher', chronicles the year-long relationship between man and octopus. The film has already won a string of awards, including a BAFTA.

'My Octopus Teacher' is a 2020 Netflix original documentary film directed by Pippa Ehrlich and James Reed, which documents a year spent by filmmaker Craig Foster forging a relationship with a wild common octopus in a South African kelp forest. The film shows Foster's growing intimate relationship with the octopus as he follows her around for nearly a year.

Here are the winners in key categories at the 93rd Academy Awards, which were handed out in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Road movie "Nomadland" was the big winner of the night, with prizes for best picture, best director and best actress.

Best picture: "Nomadland"

Best actress: Frances McDormand, "Nomadland"

Best actor: Anthony Hopkins, "The Father"

Best supporting actress: Youn Yuh-Jung, "Minari"

Best supporting actor: Daniel Kaluuya, "Judas and the Black Messiah"

Best international feature film: "Another Round" (Denmark)

Best animated feature: "Soul" 

Best documentary feature: "My Octopus Teacher"

Best original screenplay: "Promising Young Woman" - Emerald Fennell

Best adapted screenplay: "The Father" - Christopher Hampton, Florian Zeller
