Volunteers and search teams came together in an attempt to find Jett, but search efforts were unsuccessful due to rain and sewage drain systems.
According to the Healthy Hound Missing Pet Search Team Facebook page, search efforts have now become a "body recovery".
Jett was a beloved rescue dog known by many in his community.
Breakfast with Martin Bester spoke to one of Jett's owners, Karlene Treurnicht, to find out more about the incident and the beloved dog.
