South African granny sues strippers for millions
Updated | By Breakfast with Maritn Bester
A grandmother from Brackenfell in the Western Cape is suing a British strip club for millions - and you would never guess why?

The grandmother is suffering from an eye injury because she was hit by a pair of trousers in the face. This took place when the dancers were stripping down during their routine.
A South African Sunday newspaper reported that Merle Groenewald was left with a ‘permanent eye injury’.
She is suing the strip club for a whopping R2.7-million in damages.

Groenewald works at a popular Cape Town hotel.
According to Attorney Mark Mulrooney, he said: "One of the performers flicked his trousers toward the audience, but part of the trousers caught Mrs. Groenewald in the eyes and caused her to suffer injury. She suffered a severe blunt injury to her left eye which caused her to require surgery. She has lost useful vision in her left eye and suffered a temporary injury to her right eye."

The SA granny told the court she was suing Dreamboys because it "failed to ensure that there was sufficient space between the performers and the audience, so as to ensure that the performance could be carried out safely".
