South African music sensation, Tyla, is being sued over royalties for her global hit, 'Water'.

The lawsuit is tied to Tyla's producer, Sammy Soso (real name Samuel Awuku). The lawsuit has been filed by Olmo Zucca and Jackson LoMastro, who are noted as “two of the co-composers and co-authors of the Composition of the Song”.

The lawsuit alleges that Olmo Zucca and Jackson LoMastro were not credited as top-line producers, harming their reputation and careers, preventing them from acquiring new and bigger composing opportunities.

Tyla's breakout hit officially reached RIAA-certified Platinum status, meaning the South African star has earned 1 million unit sales in the U.S with the song. It's the first Platinum achievement for Tyla

According to Music Billboard Worldwide, music producers Zucca and LoMastro say they played a *massive* role in bringing a certain chart-topping track to life. We're talking everything from piano and bass guitar to electric guitar, sine pads, and even a funky "voice trumpet" (yep, that’s a thing).

The duo say they didn’t just help out—they were right there in the creative trenches, crafting key elements that ended up in the final version of the hit. After wrapping up the session, they apparently handed all their hard work over to Awuku.

Zucca and LoMastro are insisting they were not just session players brought in for the day. They argue they were co-producers and should be credited as such.

They believe that they’re entitled to equal billing and their fair share f the royalties.
