We love the spirit of South Africans!

Many restaurants have had to close their doors during the pandemic, which has had a huge impact on the hospitality industry. Recently, a photo of an emotional restaurant manager went viral, after the President announced that restaurants would be closing again.
A Facebook group was created in support of local restaurants during the latest lockdown period.
Earlier this week, a restaurant in Hout Bay hit the jackpot after a loyal customer tipped the waiters R20,000! Massimo’s Pizzeria in Hout Bay had a similar struggle during the lockdown phases but took initiative in turning the kitchen into a soup kitchen to assist the community.
The restaurant appealed to customers to support the initiative, inspiring a generous patron to contribute R20,000 to the restaurant staff!
Not too long ago, Breakfast with Martin Bester wrote about a loyal customer who tipped the staff R500 each at the Simply Asia Durbanville branch, resulting in a R6,000 tip!

Simply Asia said: “We are grateful for the generous contribution made to the store and staff during these difficult times.”
