2025 is starting off with a lot of love.
Many of our listeners know Marlinée Fouché as the lovely newsreader who brings you the latest between 16:00 and 19:00.
She is a beloved part of our team and the whole Jacaranda team.

While enjoying her time off, she sent us a special message that had us jumping with joy.
Marlinée is engaged!
Her partner of two years, Tiaan de Jager, got down on one knee and popped the question while the couple was on vacation in Pearly Beach.

Pearly Beach has always had a special place in Marlinée's heart, and Tiaan could not have picked a better spot.
Tiaan had organised a lovely boat trip aboard Marine Dynamic's whale-watching boat in Gansbaai, and about an hour into the marina safari, he proposed.
Marlinée's grandfather, Daan Fouché, has lived in Pearly Beach for some time and she tries to visit him as often as possible.
She has a deep passion for marine conservation and, through her work, tries to raise awareness of the issues facing conservation.
With so many memories and love for the area, this major moment could not have happened at a more perfect location.
