It seems like 'The Simpsons' is never-ending, and fans couldn't be happier.
The show did cause some stress for viewers when they announced the newest season will be opening with a 'finale' episode.
Luckily, it was not the actual final episode of the show.

Instead, the episode was a parody that featured the endings of various series, including 'The Sopranos', 'Breaking Bad', 'Game of Thrones', and more.
Al Jean has been the showrunner since season 13, and even after being with the show for over twenty years, he still has questions.
Leading up to the latest episode of 'The Simpsons', he posted a very cryptic message on X: "This Sunday a new The Simpsons will solve a mystery that has puzzled (me at least) since the beginning of the show…”

He also added a picture that fans say features Grandpa Simpson and Homer's mother, Mona Simpson.

According to the IMDb synopsis: "An unearthed corpse opens up a cold case from Springfield in the 1980s as well as a steamy relationship between young Grampa and Agnes Skinner."
Al Jean's fellow showrunner, Matt Selman, has spoken about the actual finale of 'The Simpsons' and how they would like the show to come to an end:
I just hope it’s just a regular episode with no Winky Winky stuff at all. Just a great family story, just like a classic story that’s just funny and involves the whole family and doesn’t feel like it needs to wrap up anything or change anything or tie anything up or be magic or talk to the audience directly.- Matt Selman (Fellow showrunner)
Hopefully, fans won't have to say goodbye any time soon.
