You might have heard about 'Hot Girl Walks' and 'Mental Health Walks', but nothing says self care like the 'Fart Walk'.
Not too long ago, the world was introduced to the Hot Girl Walk, and it became a massive trend.

The Hot Girl Walk is just a fun term for an exercise routine and way of life rather than actually being something only more attractive people partake in.
TikTok user mia_lind is the proud founder of the Hot Girl Walk and this is how she described it:

The general idea behind all these different kinds of walks is that they have health benefits as well as mental benefits.

It is a low-commitment exercise that will get even the laziest couch potatoes out of the house and feel better, even if it is just for a walk around the block.
There's no pressure, and it's purely meant to make you feel good.
If a Hot Girl Walk is no longer enough then let us introduce you to the Fart Walk.

Wellness influencer Marilyn Smith has taken to social media to share some insight about the walk and the incredible health benefits it has.

But do health professionals agree that there are true benefits to going for a walk after a meal?
According to Dr Matthew Kampert, a sport and exercise medicine physician with an appointment with orthopaedic and endocrinology at the Cleveland Clinic, the release of gas is just one of the benefits of this walk.
After you have a meal, you have what's called the gastrocolic reflex. So whenever you put things in your mouth, and you eat, and you swallow, it stimulates your gut to move things forward. So it makes room for the food that you're eating. So that's going to stimulate things to empty from your stomach and your small intestine and your colon. The colon is where most of the bacteria are. It makes the gas. Any time you're exercising — specifically walking or running — you use some of your muscles called hip flexors, specifically PSOAS muscle. The colon sits right over the top of those muscles [and they] gently massage the colon.- Dr Matthew Kampert
He also shares that walking after you eat will help control your blood sugar, but that walking at any time of day can help with this.
Those who are at most risk for type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetic are sedentary people, middle-aged people who have desk jobs and sit for most of the day, and so their blood sugar is slowly creeping higher and higher.
The important thing to remember is that any form of exercise at any time of day is good.
So if you are struggling to get more physical exercise in, make sure you do something that works for you and fits into your schedule.
