With constantly evolving beauty standards, it can be hard to keep up with the latest "preferred" aesthetic.

Celebs such as the Kardashians have long been trend-setting when it comes to cosmetic procedures, even though some of them still choose to deny it.

From lip fillers to Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs), plastic surgery is a highly personal choice.

At the end of the day, you should do what makes you feel happy and comfortable in your own skin.

Essentially, cosmetic procedures exist to help people achieve a look that they were either not born with or cannot achieve naturally.

As the industry is constantly introducing new, innovative procedures, dimple construction, or dimpleplasty, is the new cosmetic kid on the block.

According to a study by Asst. Prof. Ahmed Hassan El-Sabbagh (Department of Plastic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University): "In Arabian society, cheek dimples are considered as a sign of beauty and attractiveness. The same concept is also established in oriental communities."

The procedure has also reached South African shores as various local doctors offer dimple construction.

A make-up artist from Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal, shared more about her experience with her TikTok followers.

Mal, @_mal.sn, starts her video by stating, "I was not born with this; they are supernatural dimples".

As mentioned, many viewers were shocked as it appeared so natural and had no idea this procedure existed.

While no medical procedure is without risks, the establishment that performed Mal's procedure said: "There is no risk of facial paralysis. We use the latest technique and the safest measurement. They are created within two weeks."
