The ultimate African experience Bucket List
Updated | By Bronwyn Hardick
Described by Getaway Magazine as "the most travelled man in Africa," Kingsley Holgate has done everything from sailed the Makgadigadi Salt Pans in land yachts, travelled on foot, by bicycle, bullock cart, dugout canoe and has taken his Land Rover to circumnavigate the globe by land following the Tropic of Capricorn.
Doepie met up with Kingsley at this past weekend’s Landy Fest in Vereeniging before him and his team set off to find the heart of Africa. Not only will they be mapping the geographical location of this area but they will also be doing humanitarian work distributing mosquito net, life straws and helping test children’s vision with help of their ‘Right to Sight’ campaign.
One of the questions posed to the old grey beard of Africa was what he feels every person needs to experience in their lifetime. The answers will leave you wanting to leave everything behind and explore Mama Africa until the end of your days...
