BACKGROUND: Oupa Rantlha is the proud dad of six-year-old Amolelang (Amo). He works in the wash bay at a car dealership. He works very hard for his small salary, to provide for his son who has special needs.

Amo’s mom, Naledi Mphuthi is still studying, but together this young mom and dad are committed to giving Amo the best and more. We hear so often of special needs babies that are abandoned by one or both parents, but not Amo his parents love him more than anything else!

Amolelang was born with Cerebral Palsy, which has brought many challenges. As Amo grows older, he needs more assistance with his mobility. Oupa’s colleagues at work recently did fundraising to buy Amolelang a paediatric walker, to assist with his mobility and quality of life.

However, he needs regular physiotherapy and other assistance to help with his development, and mobility and improve his independence and quality of life. Oupa’s work colleagues reached out to Good Morning Angels for assistance for this dedicated dad - to give his very special boy the help he needs.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Dear Good morning Angels

I’m humbly reaching out to you seeking assistance for one of our valued wash bay staff members, Oupa. His son Amolelang was born with Cerebral Palsy and is currently six years old.

Due to the disease, he’s unfortunately unable to walk on his own. They’ve been struggling to make ends meet and therefore cannot afford the supporting pediatric walker that would enable Amolelang to move more freely around the house. He also needs physiotherapy and another assistance weekly, but Oupa can only afford to take him once a month. They reside in Duduza. Despite the daily struggle, Oupa comes to work every day with a big smile and is always willing to assist everyone with everything.

Would you please consider assisting in any way possible? We have been able, through fundraising, to assist Oupa to buy the pediatric walker for Amolelang. It will improve his quality of life tremendously, but they still need so much more.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,
