Car Accidents: Who is the first person you call after being in a crash?
Updated | By Renaldo Schwarp
Arriving safely at one’s destination doesn’t always go according to plan. Responsible driving is something all road users should strive for, but what to do if you end up in a car accident?
When our lives are threatened, like in the case of a car crash, humans develop an instinctive defense against danger, fight or flight.
This adrenaline rush can be intense and is often used to avoid danger or react quickly and even help rescue others. There is a lot of things that rushes through one’s mind, making sure everyone is safe and out of danger, informing the authorities, and phoning your insurance company.
But once you have ensured that everyone is safe and out of danger, and after informing all the necessary parties, who is the first person you call to let them know that you are fine? A family member? A friend? Your husband?
#HighSchoolHits presenter Renaldo Schwarp was in a car accident in Johannesburg earlier this week, where he sustained minor injuries. The first person he called? His mother.
