South African's have a language of their own that is special to the country and only we really understand. Here are 11 phrases that make no sense to foreigners.
1. "Yebo Gogo"
The phrase was coined by a cellphone company in 1994 and has now become part of our every day language, from answering you phone to saying yes.
2. It's not inside, its on top
A 1980’s Cremora advertisement made the saying famous when the gentleman in the ad when searching for the product simply could not find it.
3. “It’s dry, but you can drink it”
Made famous by the cousin himself, this phrase will be forever in our minds.
4. “Met eish ja”
After this ad was released we all order our drinks with "eish".
5. “They taste so good ‘cos they eat so good”
We actually had to Google this one to see if they are still around but it seems that Farmer Brown's Chicken are still looking so good 'cos they eating so good.
6. “Tata ma chance, tata ma millions”
We all have the dream of winning the lottery you've gotta tata ma chance to tata ma millions.
7. “I call everything I love Wedwo”
The millennials may not remember this one, back in the day we called everything Wedwo.
8. "Glug glug"
Of course when filling up your car you refer to it is glug glug.
9."I love it when you talk foreign"
We only order macchiatos now.
10. “Because I’m a children”
The cuteness of this little boy stole hearts all those years ago, and he’s probably breaking many more hearts now!
11. “Don’t touch me on my studio”
