The police officers spotted three men allegedly trying to steal a white Honda in a parking lot of a shopping centre.

One of the suspects managed to flee the scene of the crime, while the other two tried to run away. In footage shared by New York Post, the police officer dressed as Santa Claus can be seen slamming one of the suspects to the ground. The officer in the elf costume arrested the third suspect at gunpoint.
According to reports, the officers were dressed up in an attempt to curb retail theft during the holiday season.
